NPFL: Ekwueme reflects on ‘difficult’ season for Enyimba

Enyimba have admitted that their 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) wasn’t a pleasant one.

The People’s Elephant finished in sixth position in the campaign.

Enyimba also reached the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Aba giants failed to make it beyond the group stage.

Enyimba’s performance on the continent preserved Nigeria’s two spots in the CAF Champions league.

“Last season wasn’t quite a pleasant one for us,” Enyimba’s sports director Ifeanyi Ekwueme told Completesports.

“We didn’t actualise our target. But then, we’re grateful to God for reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League and finishing in third place, which was good enough to ensure Nigeria still has two spots in the continental competitions.”
