The Muslim Community of Oyo State has enjoined the state police command and other security agencies not to allow those who molested a woman in veil to go unpunished.
The community made the call via a statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday.
The statement was signed by the duo of Alhaji Kunle Sanni and Alhaji Abidemi Siyanbade, Chairman and Secretary of the community, respectively.
DAILY POST gathered that a woman in veil was attacked by some yet to be identified individuals in the Oje area of Ibadan.
The community described the incident as a breach of the dignity of woman-hood.
“Attack on a Muslim sister, Hajia Shukuroh Olapade on Wednesday 21st May, 2025, adorning Niqab, in line with the regulations of Islam, is an orchestrated plan by enemies of Islam, to unleash crisis, where there is none.
“We hereby call on governments; Directors of DSS and; Heads of other Security Agencies, to identify the perpetrators, unravel their grand plan and nip the crisis in the bud,” the statement said.
