
An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, on Monday, remanded an ex-convict, Habeeb Jimoh, 24, for allegedly breaking into a bar and stealing a Zealot speaker, an Infinix phone, and other valuables worth N595,000.
Jimoh, whose address was not provided, pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing.
The Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Fadairo, ordered that the defendant be remanded in the Correctional Centre because he is an ex-convict and may abscond if granted bail.
She adjourned the case until June 3 for further hearing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant broke into the bar and stole the items, property of one Tosin Okegbenro.
He said that the offences contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
Court remands ex-convict over alleged theft
