The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the deadly attack on Tyoshin community in Naka, the headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
DAILY POST reports that the attackers stormed the area under the cover of darkness on Sunday, unleashing terror on innocent residents.
Many people were feared dead in the latest attack.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Benue State Command, Edet Udeme, said tactical teams have been deployed to the area and are currently on the ground.
“This is to confirm that there was an attack yesterday at Naka and Apa,” she said.
“Tactical teams have been deployed and are already on the ground. They are on top of the situation. I will get back to you after obtaining further and accurate information, please. Thank you.”
