
Security agencies have recovered a stolen vehicle belonging to a United Nations (UN) staffer kidnapped by gunmen in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state.
The victim, identified as 45-year-old Emmanuel Yusuf Sabo, was abducted at about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, when he was returning home from work, along Godwin Street, in the State Low-Cost area, Jos North, Plateau State.
Zagazola Makama learnt that Sabo, who worked at the UN Office in Jos, had been kidnapped by unknown armed men, causing concern from his family, and in the local area by security agencies.
His younger brother, Mr. Ezekiel Sabo of Angwan Rukuba, reported the kidnapping to the police at about 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
“After receiving the report, the Command Control Room quickly relayed the development to all patrol teams and posts throughout the state, informing security sources with knowledge of the situation.”
At about 3:40 a.m., a team of police operatives stopped the vehicle that belonged to the victim in Manguna, in Bokkos LGA.
According to the Police report, the suspected kidnapper abandon the stolen vehicle and ran away.
