Benue killings: Police send reinforcements to Apa, Gwer West

Benue State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Emenari Ifeanyi, has intensified security operations in identified flashpoints across the state, particularly Apa and Gwer West Local Government Areas, following recent deadly attacks.

DAILY POST reports in a renewed wave of violence, suspected bandits launched fresh assaults on some communities in Apa Naka, Gwer West LGA, killing several residents.

In response, CP Emenari has ordered the immediate deployment of additional tactical teams to reinforce existing formations in the affected areas.

According to the state police PRO, Udeme Edet, these deployments aim to strengthen surveillance, secure entry and exit points, and prevent further unprovoked attacks.

She said, “The Commissioner of Police reassures residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and order, and vows to pursue the perpetrators until they are brought to justice under the law.

“He also commiserates with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the attacks, assuring them that no effort will be spared in protecting lives and property across Benue State.

“The Command urges the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations.”
