“I’m responding to the lady who said I took advantage of her in her time of need. Please, this is my own side of the story. I wish to clear my name by explaining every detail. So, Pls, i beg that you hear me out & pardon my long write-up.
Actually, I’m so pãìnd & in tears writing these paragraphs, especially realizing this isn’t a dream but it’s something actually happening to me in real life, something i never expected😭
I’m a taxi driver. Due to the nature of my job, I hardly have time even to cook. So, there’s this woman across the street who sells rice & beans; I go there to take brkfast almost every day before starting work. That’s where I met this lady here who was assisting the old woman in the restaurant. I was actually attracted to her smartness & humility. Gradually, I started gaining her attention as I always asked her to keep the change. Sometimes I also bought her gifts, & that’s how I had her full attention. At some point. I opened up to her about my feelings towards her.
One thing led to another. After a while, we started dating. Then, She told me about her past, saying she lost her mom after she gave birth to her & was raised by her dad, who also passed away due to a diabetic illness, & she became an orphan. Her only uncle, who took her in, started making advances at her, which left her with no choice but to flee from his home. Along the line, she met this old woman who had pity on her after she told her story & pleaded with her to allow her to stay & assist her in her business, even if she wasn’t going to get paid for her services.
Just 2 weeks into our relationship one night, she came knocking at my door at around 9 PM, crying & complaining that she had nowhere else to go, saying she had been sent packing by the same woman who had helped her cuz she suspected her of having an affair with her husband. She actually admitted that she regretted not telling the old lady that her husband had been making advances at her. I told her it was okay if she stayed with me.
I did everything within my power, morally, emotionally, & financially, to make sure she was happy at my place. She even admitted & was always praising & thanking me, saying she had never experienced such happiness & comfort all her life, not even when she was with her dad, cuz life was so difficult for them.
She finally got pregnant for me a few months later. A year after the baby was born, I asked that she take me to her hometown. When we got there, I introduced myself to her grandma & people, made them understand that I’d soon be coming for an official visit to pay her dowry. The money I had managed to save up, I actually wanted to use it to open up a provision store for her beside my house since she didn’t have anything doing then. This was also to assist her so she wouldn’t run to me for every little financial need.
2 years later, I came across an old friend who opted to help me get a good job but advised that I go back to school & resume from where I stopped cuz the job required a graduate. Due to this, I gathered up every dime I managed to save up for the past year, sold a piece of land I inherited from my dad, & decided that this lady should be the one to go back to school. While I gave our child to my mom to take care of & continued to put in efforts to support her financially while she was at school, so she could graduate & get a good job that would change our lives for good.
About six months after my fiancée graduated, I was shocked to find out that while I was busy working hard & even starving myself just so I could save up enough money to assist her in her education, she was busy cheating on me with another man. After everything we’d been through, I still don’t know how she was able to have the courage to come to me kneeling & begging, asking me to forgive her cuz she had fallen in love with another man, telling me to my face that she never really loved me, that I only met her in her time of need, & she was just 20 years old, still too young & naive to make proper & mature decisions for herself.
I couldn’t believe my eyes & ears; it was as if I was dreaming. And even provoking me more by saying that she & her fiancé were ready to repay me financially for every dime I’d ever spent on her & even double. I couldn’t hold my anger; I had to walk out on her. About 2 weeks later, out of frustration, I organized & planned with some friends to spoil their traditional wedding ceremony.
Due to this, we were reported to the police, & they had us locked up for almost six days. During this time, my fiancée went on with the marriage. When I was released, a cheque of 500k naira was sent to me, & I was told it was from her & her husband, & this money was for the repayment of everything I’d done for her.
Blessing! I sent you back to school to upgrade, graduate, & change our financial status. I never knew I was upgrading you to graduate & marry someone else😭😭. I honestly still can’t believe you could have the heart to do this to me after everything we’ve been through😭
All I’ve ever done is love & want the best for you, but instead, you choose to put me through d’prè”sìøn & make me cry like a baby. So now, You even go around telling people I took advantage of you. Blessing! So 500k is the so-called “double payment” for everything I’ve done for you! I do not need your money, I’ll send your cheque back to you & your husband. thanks for everything!
