After 72 Hours, They Sent Me A Video Mocking Me, Saying Peter Obi Was in Their Office – K. Okonkwo

In a heated and revealing conversation on Symfoni TV, popular Nollywood actor-turned-political analyst, Kenneth Okonkwo, has finally broken his silence following Peter Obi’s comment accusing him of betrayal. The outspoken Labour Party chieftain turned political commentator wasted no time in setting the record straight, claiming that Peter Obi himself was the one who betrayed him and the principles they once shared.

Reacting to Peter Obi’s statement that Kenneth Okonkwo had betrayed him, the former Labour Party spokesman painted a picture of confusion, broken trust, and political gamesmanship. According to Okonkwo, the rift between him and the LP 2023 presidential candidate began when Peter Obi suddenly endorsed the Julius Abure-led Labour Party executive, despite having initially distanced himself from their controversial actions.

“It was Peter Obi who betrayed me,” Okonkwo stated emphatically. “He compromised his own principal within a short time after endorsing Abure’s and his colleagues’ decisions in a conference I was not even aware of or told about.”

Okonkwo explained that when the controversial Labour Party conference was held, several key members—including himself—were left in the dark. According to him, Peter Obi had initially stood against the conference, acknowledging that “some people were not told about the meeting, and that makes it void.” Encouraged by that stand, Okonkwo met Obi personally to confirm if he truly meant those words, and Obi assured him he did.

However, to Okonkwo’s surprise, everything changed within days.

After 72 hours, they sent me a video mocking me, saying Peter Obi was in their office,” Okonkwo recounted. “He went back to Abure’s office to publicly endorse them. And when he was there talking to them, one of the leaders in that executive sent me a video mocking me that the person I am fighting for against them has come to their office to endorse them.”

That moment was the breaking point for Kenneth Okonkwo. Feeling betrayed and ridiculed, he decided to publicly cut ties with the Abure-led faction of the Labour Party.

“That was the first time I made a public statement that I disassociate myself from anything Abure and his executive,” he added, with visible disappointment.

This statement by Okonkwo has sparked fresh controversy and renewed interest in the internal crisis rocking the Labour Party. His revelations also raise questions about Peter Obi’s current political direction and the implications of his endorsements.
