Video: I Met Four Men In The Taxi, They Slapped Me And Asked For My ATM PIN, But My Card Had Expired – La

A lady identified as Peace Oblama has recounted how she was kidnapped and robbed by suspected “one chance” robbers around the Gbagada and Ikeja areas of Lagos. She was on her way to work on May 19, 2025, when she boarded a cab (taxi) that already had four men inside. These men allegedly brutalized, assaulted, and robbed her before dumping her on the road.

In a YouTube video posted by Lucky Udu, a popular content creator, Oblama explained that it was a Monday morning, and such days and times are always hectic in Lagos. She had waited at the bus stop for a cab to take her to work for a long time. She was already worried because she didn’t want to be late.

While standing at the bus stop, a cab drove past her. She shouted “VI,” and the driver asked her to enter. She explained that four men were already in the cab—two in front and two at the back. Immediately after she entered and sat in the back seat, she realized that the faces of the occupants were unfamiliar. She was about to tell the driver to let her down when the men at the back started beating her.

She added that the miscreants had a POS machine with them. They demanded her ATM cards. She had two cards with her, but one of them had already expired. However, the miscreants were able to withdraw money from her account through banking apps.

“I was crying, and the man said, ‘Where is your phone? Bring your ATM.’ Another one gave me my bag. They brought out two ATM cards and had a POS machine with them. They inserted the card in their POS and asked for my PIN. When I told them the PIN, I had already informed them that there was no money in that card, and one of the cards had expired.”
