Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, also known as Tessy, checked into the hotel, located along 3rd Avenue in Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025, alongside a yet-to-be-identified man. Hotel staff later found her unresponsive during routine service rounds and quickly alerted the Police.

The Commissioner of Police has appealed to the public to remain calm and allow investigators to carry out their duties without interference. He also extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of the deceased.
In his message, CP Ajao Adewale urged young women to remain cautious in their interactions, especially with unfamiliar individuals, and encouraged them to always share their locations with trusted persons for safety.
