When Obi, who was in Abuja at the time, hurried to the spot, he discovered that security guards were barring entry and that demolition was already under progress. Obi said that a court order against a “unknown person” and squatters was the reason behind the demolition of the property, which had belonged to his brother’s business for more than ten years. He questioned the action’s legitimacy, pointing out that there was no demolition order or permit.Obi interacted with contractors and security for several hours at the site, but he never got a clear explanation of why the destruction was permitted. He posted this on his official X Twitter. Although no formal paperwork was presented, the contractors asserted that they were unaware of the orchestrator, and two people subsequently recommended a visit to the police station.

The issue came to light when his brother, recently returned from Port Harcourt, contacted him in distress, reporting that a group had begun demolishing the building without prior notice.
