The incident began when the actress shared a story on Instagram, prompting a disturbing direct message from a follower who asked:
“Why are you not yet pregnant… abi are you barren?”
The question, meant either as a joke or out of misplaced curiosity, struck a nerve and understandably so. In a series of now-viral screenshots, Chisom didn’t hold back. She revealed she had suffered a miscarriage, and had been battling the grief of losing a child.
“I’m not barren. I actually had a miscarriage and I’ve been battling with the pain of losing a child.”
“But as you found it fun to mock me, in your time of life, you shall be called barren.”
The actress went on to curse the troll, saying the pain and pressure the person attempted to inflict would now be returned with full force. Chisom Steve added:
“And this curse will not be lifted by even the strongest man of God you think you know.”
“You will never be able to conceive… it will never be well with you. Amen.”
While Chisom’s reaction may seem harsh, it resonated with many who understand the emotional toll of miscarriage and the societal pressure women face over fertility. Some fans supported her for standing up for herself, while others urged compassion and forgiveness. The troll later apologized, writing:
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know it will offend you 🙏🙏🙏. I only asked a question. I’m not mocking you. Please forgive me.”
