She clarified that she had never before made a concerted effort to talk in a Bini Pidgin accent, but she was astounded by how rapidly she became proficient after engaging with people on set. Irele revealed in a video from Pulse Nigeria that she was amazed by how effectively she could speak the dialect by the third day of filming. She discovered on set that she had a natural aptitude to acquire accents, which she found both fascinating and weird as she had previously simply played around with them.

“I discovered how fast I could pick up an accent,” Efe Irele stated. And it was crazy because I had just tried to joke around previously. In my entire life, I have never made an effort to speak Benin Pidgin correctly. But because I was interacting with so many people on set, I was like, “Wow,” literally on the third day.
