Speaking during a recent appearance on Biola Bayo’s podcast, Aruga shared that shortly after her relocation, rumors began circulating that she was pregnant and had travelled abroad solely to give birth.
“I experienced some attacks when I moved to America,” she said. “People thought I was pregnant and had relocated just to have my baby in the U.S.”
The actress admitted the transition was difficult, marked by moments of doubt and emotional breakdowns. “I would cry and wonder if I made the right decision because I was starting over in a completely new place,” she revealed.
During this difficult time, Aruga said she leaned on the support of fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji. She recalled how his prayers and words of encouragement, delivered while he was on pilgrimage in Mecca, helped her regain focus.
“I called Lateef Adedimeji because we were very close at the time. He told me to go and prosper and prayed for me. I’m a very emotional person, so I cried,” she said.
Reflecting on her passion for acting, Aruga emphasised that her love for the craft is deeply rooted and not driven by a desire for fame. “I love my career, not because I want to be famous. If acting were like being a doctor, I would still choose it. It’s my true calling.”
She also playfully disclosed her long-time celebrity crush: veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo. “Ogogo used to be my crush during the ‘Owo Blow’ days,” she admitted with a smile.

Wrapping up her interview, the actress expressed gratitude to fans who have been urging her to return to the screen. “You all have been asking me to come back, and I’m back. I don’t know how I’ll do it, but I’ll keep going. When I produce my movie, please watch it with love. And please, for God’s sake, I don’t know how to dance,” she added humorously…CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
