The singer recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask his followers who graduated with first-class honours to share their academic transcripts.

“If you graduated with First class, post your transcripts,” he wrote.

The post quickly went viral, amassing thousands of likes and retweets, with many fans sharing their certificates and results.

Gold later revealed that the beneficiaries were randomly selected and advised them to check their inboxes for confirmation.

Some lucky recipients shared screenshots of the N250,000 transfers, expressing gratitude for the singer’s generosity.

Gold rose to limelight after the release of his track ‘Sade’, a highlife cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’ in 2015.

He signed to YBNL that same year, and released his debut album, ‘Gold’. He later exited the record label after his contract had expired.

The 38-year-old has released five albums including ‘Gold’ (2016), ‘About 30’ (2018), ‘Afropop’ (2020), ‘Catch Me If You Can’ (2022), and ‘Tequila Ever After‘ (2023).

Gold has been vocal about his sickle cell journey, most notably through his 2022 single ‘5 Star’.

In July 2024, the singer emphasised his commitment to advocacy, stating his mission is to help others with the condition “feel safe and supported”.
