Actress Angela Okorie has publicly apologised to her colleague Mercy Johnson and billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, following weeks of backlash over her online attacks that drew Regina Daniels into the fray.
Angela, who had repeatedly called out Mercy in a series of Instagram videos, shared the apology on her page on Friday. She posted photos of Mercy and her husband Prince Odi Okojie, followed by a photo of Ned Nwoko, while ignoring Regina, who had fiercely defended Mercy during the earlier online clash.
“Hi beautiful people, these past days have been a period of intense reflection for me. Lately, having reminisced on certain events that had transpired, I can only thank God that I am alive,” she began.
“It’s no secret that there have been some difficult issues circulating on social media between Mercy Johnson and myself. Moving forward, I would like to address this matter.
“I am human, and when my emotions take over, I speak from the heart… I realise now that my utterances, whether uttered from a place of pain or not, were hurtful… I feel so sorry having realised how this gets to you, Mercy. Your mental health is very important now and ever & I wouldn’t wish you and your family worse. That’s not my nature, and you know it. Do find a place in your heart to forgive me.”
Angela also apologised to Ned Nwoko, whom she had insulted during a heated response to Regina’s defence of Mercy.
“My sincere apology also goes to Senator Ned Nwoko. I understand that my anger in trying to make a reply didn’t find you in a good state… I truly reacted in a way I now recognise wasn’t pleasant. I cannot intentionally disrespect you for whatever reason,” she wrote
The apology follows a fiery online drama that began on June 3, 2025 when Angela went live on Instagram claiming Mercy Johnson was seriously ill. Though she said she had forgiven Mercy, Angela used the moment to criticise the actress’s spiritual life and implied that her weight loss was due to spiritual consequences, not slimming tea. She accused Mercy of wronging people in the industry without remorse.
Angela’s remarks stirred controversy, prompting Regina Daniels, who considers Mercy a mentor to jump in. In a series of Instagram Stories posted that same day, Regina slammed Angela.
“With all due respect, Aunty Angela, you dey mad! Abeg no forgive… we no dey forgive… no dey shalaye. She get pikin wey gidigba,” Regina wrote.
She also accused Angela of bitterness and reminded her of struggling with her lines on set until Mercy helped. Regina even dragged Angela’s personal life into the exchange, alleging the actress once showed interest in her husband Ned Nwoko.
Angela fired back in a video posted, attacking Regina and mocking her marriage to Ned. She accused the younger actress of disrespect and warned her to “stay in her place.”
Throughout the back-and-forth, Mercy Johnson maintained her silence. On June 4, she teased an important announcement, which many expected to address the feud. Instead, she unveiled a brand endorsement deal and steered clear of the controversy…CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
