Over 20 Workers Escape Death as Structure Crumbles
More than 20 construction workers were reportedly present on-site when the tragic event unfolded. Most of them narrowly escaped death, though a few sustained minor injuries.

Eyewitnesses Blame Substandard Materials for the Collapse
According to multiple eyewitness accounts, the building collapse was allegedly caused by the use of inferior construction materials. Locals say the late owner, Andrew Isesere, acted as the project supervisor, and disregarded professional engineering standards.
“The owner was told he was using low-quality materials,” said a neighbour, Andrew Inegbebor.
“He used 12mm rods instead of the recommended 16mm for the pillars. There was no base basket at the pillars. There was no structural engineer on site either. This is the result.”
