According to him, his late uncle Isiaka Adeleke (Serubawon) was the first elected governor of Osun State, and his grandfather served as a senator in Nigeria.

He claimed that politics has always been a part of their life due to this background. Davido added that he had no intention of running for public office. He claimed that he is content with his life as a singer right now and is not interested in taking on the strain that comes with politics. “It is in the blood,” Davido said.
