Thinking back on the Lucky Udu Experience, Ochohepo explained that it all started in early March 2025 when a friend he had known since their college days suddenly got in touch with him. After asking him about his line of work, the friend urged him to think about travelling to Burkina Faso, stating with assurance that there were rich prospects and that the procedure was simple.

Ochohepo resigned his job, organised his travel documents, and left for Burkina Faso with a strong conviction. It seemed to him that everything had been settled and that he was starting a steady job. But the circumstances he found himself in on the ground offered a different viewpoint. As soon as he arrived and settled in, he was asked to pay. He asked for clarity, asking what the funds were being used for. He was surprised at the answer.

In what he said: “They asked me to transfer the money as soon as I got there and put my bag down.” Which funds are you referring about, I asked them? I was told that I ought to think about sending ₦1.8 million. I asked them why they were making the request. They said it was required to get an immigration permit, a police permit, and a government permit.
