The National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) has called for the prosecution of Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (a.k.a. KWAM 1) for his last Tuesday’s misbehaviour at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where he made physical attempt to disrupt the movement of a ValueJet flight heading to Lagos during his altercation with ground staff and pilots at the foot of the aircraft….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
The dispute was occasioned by the refusal of the aviation workers to allow the singer boarded with alcohol which rendered him angry, and in a fit of rage stood in front of the aircraft while it was about to taxi.
The pilot and the co-pilot, Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and Flight Officer Ivan Oloba respectively have both had their licences suspended by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for breach of aviation safety protocols, while Ayinde is placed on ‘No-fly list’ for six months at the directive of the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, over unruly conduct at the ValueJet tarmac.
The aviation authority has also written a petition against the Fuji star to Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police that may lead to his prosecution.
The latter NAAPE on Saturday demanded through a statement signed by its National President, Mr Galadima Abednego.
In it, the pilots’ association urged the authorities to pardon Captain Ogoyi and Aloba, claiming Ayinde made them lost their composure.
“While we note the captain’s less than optimal discretion, we totally condemn KWAM 1’s crude, unruly behaviour and arrogant display.
“NAAPE calls on the authorities to lay the blame on KWAM 1 and make him face the full wrath of the law to prevent future incidents.
“While we are not against investigation, we demand it be open, transparent, and unbiased.
“The intense provocation caused by KWAM 1’s actions stretched the tolerance of seasoned pilots with unblemished records,” the statement read….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
