According to reports, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, ordered the operation, which demolished the property.
The demolition crew showed up without warning, swiftly designating and demolishing buildings on the property, With no possibility of material salvaging, items valued at millions of naira were turned to rubble. As the demolition went on, valuables were removed by scavengers, referred to as Babambola in the local community. The once-tidy garden was reduced to a level area of dirt covered in debris by the time the procedure was finished. The proprietor described his experience:
“What am I going to do? I spotted them approaching when I arrived here in the morning. They began marking the location after claiming to be from Development. “What for?” I asked. They’re demolishing, he added. How can you destroy without warning, without anything? I asked. They stated they had to tear it down today. Then I pleaded with them: Please… I answered, “Give me a week,” when I met the director, Mr. Galadima, whom I had known in the past. “No,” he responded.
