Uzodimma, represented by his chief of staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyahie, spoke at the decoration of the newly promoted assistant commissioner of police, ACP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa, head of Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the state police command, held at the command’s headquarters in Owerri.
The governor said his administration would continually partner and support the security agencies in the state in efforts aimed at combating insurgency, kidnapping, armed robbery and other forms of violent crimes and criminality in the state.
Uzodimma also reaffirmed his commitment to the adequate welfare of security officers in the state. He applauded the Tiger Base Unit boss and described him as an asset to not only the Nigerian police force but the entire society.
“Governor Hope Uzodimma will spend all resources to ensure adequate security in Imo State. He is not leaving any stone unturned concerning the protection and safety of Imo people.
“So far, we are winning the fight against insecurity, and today, we have gathered here to celebrate an officer whose contributions in the fight are obvious and commendable,” Anyahie stated.
While decorating ACP Odeyeyiwa, popularly known as Ola, the state police commissioner, Aboki Danjuma, urged him not to relent in his commitment to crime fighting and ensuring security, peace and stability in the state.
He described ACP Ola as one of the best officers of the Command whose dedication cum professionalism have contributed immensely to crime reduction as well as enhanced public safety in the state.
The Imo police boss also used the opportunity to thank the state governor, Hope Uzodimma, and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for their continued and immense support of the command.
He reiterated that the command under his leadership would continue to prioritise officers’ welfare and provide an enabling environment for their professional development, progress, and service rewards.
In his vote of thanks, ACP Ola expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force and the command for their trust and support. He pledged to continue serving with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, acknowledging the vital role his family, colleagues, media and community have played in his success.
Senior government officials, including the special assistant on monitoring and compliance, Hon. Chinasa Nwaneri, and the chief principal security officer to the governor, CSP Shaba Adamu Gboyako, attended the event, along with the command’s management team, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers of the newly promoted.
ACP Ola is among the officers who were recently given an accelerated promotion following their exceptional service, dedication, professionalism, and operational achievements.
