Popular actor Abija: “I shot a bush meat while hunting, and it shouted like a human being.”

She also challenges the idea of ill-gotten wealth and calls into question the foundation of the coup’s “clean-up” narrative by pointing out that her mother had a house and land before to her marriage. She argues that using the word “corruption” as a weapon made violence seem justified, forcing grieving families to struggle with both their loss and a tarnished public image. She contends that in order to ensure historical justice and accuracy, these assertions must be re-examined.

“I have to ask—what exactly are we comparing when people talk about ‘corruption’ back then,” she asked. My father owned two homes: one in Surulere, which my uncle eventually sold, and another in Ikoyi, where many officers had an allotment withheld from their pay. Before she even got married to my father, my mother owned a home and some land.

Abija, a well-known Yoruba actor, has talked about an odd and terrifying encounter from his time as a hunter before becoming an actor. The legendary actor described how he once came upon a bizarre incident while hunting in the middle of the night in an interview with FEELRIGHTNEWS TV on Friday, August 22, 2025. “When I’m not performing, I was a hunter. He claims that he chose to hunt bush meat after spotting it close to the aforementioned tree. But he was afraid of what came next. And inside the bush, I noticed a certain type of bush meat. I saw a bush-meat there, and I set out to kill that partner even though I was far from that tree. The voice that erupted from the animal’s mouth surprised me because it sounded like a human, even though I had shot it and it had fallen. Around 1:00 PM at midnight, something happens,” he stated.

As he approached the animal, he remembered, he found it was still bush meat, but the encounter soon took an unsettling turn. As I approached the animal around one in the morning, it was still bush meat. The animal abruptly vanished while I was holding its leg to lift it so I could kill it. I heard a voice say, “Madman, you want to kill me, you want to eat me, you want to cook me inside the pot,” but I’m not sure where it was coming from. “Look at you, Madman,” Abija recalled…..CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
