Nnamdi Azikiwe University has spoken up after the tragic d3ath of a 100-level law student, Miss Isabella Chioma Ajana, who passed away on July 9, 2025, days after being rushed to the school’s medical centre.
According to reports, Isabella’s roommates at Elmada hostel claimed they lost their room key and went to the hostel mistress for a spare, but she allegedly demanded N120,000 (N40,000 each) before giving them access. The roommates said they pleaded that Isabella urgently needed her insulin, but the mistress refused to budge. Sadly, her health deteriorated and she later d!ed at the University Medical Centre.
In a statement released on Friday, August 22, the school management announced that the medical personnel who handled Isabella’s case have been suspended for three months, pending further investigations.
As for the hostel mistress, the school clarified that Elmada hostel is privately managed, but insisted that the management should sack her immediately. The institution also revealed it would be reviewing its partnership with the hostel…..CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
