The celebrity couple, who have been married for over a decade, have been facing marital issues for months. Fans noticed that Annie no longer follows the Afrobeat star on the photo-sharing app, and a quick check also revealed that 2Baba has unfollowed his wife. Interestingly, the singer has drastically reduced his following list to just 33 people, which includes his new wife Natasha and a few celebrity friends such as Ayo Makun (AY Comedian), Don Jazzy, Kemi Adetiba, and Nasboi.
Just a day before the Instagram drama, Annie Macaulay appeared to throw shade at her estranged husband. On her Instagram story, she praised several celebrities for being responsible fathers, tagging Peter Okoye, Cole Peter, and Andilen Cube, but intentionally left out 2Baba. The subtle dig fueled speculations that she was calling him a “deadbeat father.”
Last month, Annie had also hinted at moving on from the marriage. In a cryptic post, she wrote:
“I just archive and move on.”
The cracks in their relationship became even more visible at the Headies Awards, where Annie made headlines with a bold statement while presenting on stage. Reintroducing herself to the audience, she said she was no longer Annie Idibia but Annie Macaulay, before proudly announcing to the world that she is single.
