A 39-year-old gold dealer has attacked his fiancée with a hammer after accusing her of cheating.
The incident happened at Kasoa, Ghana. The victim, Barikisu Abdullah, is said to have woken up at the hospital after losing consciousness during the attack.
Barikisu stated that her fiancée, Osman Mumuni whom she had met a year ago, lived in Bolgatanga while she lived at Kasoa in a house rented for her by Osman.
Speaking to Crime Check Tv Gh, she said that a week after the Eid-Fitr celebration, while she was asleep during one night, her fiancé sneaked into her room and assaulted her using a hammer.
She said she became unconscious, suffered memory loss, only to wake up in a hospital bed after she gained consciousness.
She said when she went back home, she found her fiancé’s slippers, blood stains in her room and the hammer he used to commit the act.
Days later, she said her fiancé called her through her parent’s phone to apologize, admitting he committed the act.

When we contacted Osman, he admitted to committing the act but said he assaulted her with his hands during a confrontation between them and not with a hammer.
He denied sneaking into her room.
Osman accused Barikisu of betrayal even after all he had done for her.
Osman said he rented a room for Barikisu which cost Gh¢6,000 for a year, bought a phone for her, gave her Gh¢500 every week and almost Gh¢100 everyday for upkeep.
He said he also gave her business capital but after all the responsibilities only for her to cheat on him.
He claimed that anytime he called Barikisu to talk to her on the phone, she was always making calls late at night.
Despite expressing unhappiness about the situation, Barikisu became disobedient.
Osman also alleged that anytime he visited Barikisu, she did not regard him and she even rained insults on him.
He claims Barikisu refuses to make love with him, heightening his suspicion of cheating against her.
Osman, who appeared remorseful, however promised to foot the medical bills for Barikisu’s treatment and pledged to meet her family over the issue.
Barikisu refuted the cheating claims explaining that she received calls from customers since she was a business woman.
She also said she did not make love with Osman because he had not married her yet.
She accused Osman of ridiculing her family as he always postponed meeting with them to settle the matter.
