Northern Province Police Commanding Officer, Lucky Munkondya has disclosed the sad development to Mano News saying the incident happened on 24th August 2025 around 14:00 hours and was reported the same day at 18:02 hours at Kasama Central Police Station.
Brief facts indicate that the victim was seated outside her house when the 16-year-old juvenile from the same village allegedly attacked her by strangling her from behind, causing her to fall to the ground.
He is reported to have then forcefully removed her skirt and raped her.
The victim, who sustained painful private parts and general body pains, failed to scream for help due to strangulation. And when the juvenile heard people approaching, he fled, leaving her bleeding on the ground.
The victim then later sought help from congregants at a nearby church, who assisted her in reporting the matter to police.
A medical report form was issued for treatment, and police have since opened a docket. The suspect has been arrested.
In a separate incident, a decomposed body has been discovered in Forest P47, near ZRA houses in Kasama.
Northern Province Police Commanding Officer, Lucky Munkondya, says the body was found on 26th August 2025 around 15:17 hours by a member of the public.
Ms Mukondya has identified the deceased as Kennedy Chingu Sikazwe, 57, of Kungu Village in Chief Mwamba’s area, who had earlier been reported missing on 24th August by his younger brother, Lawrence Singongo, 54.
She says following this discovery, police are treating the incident as a sudden and unnatural death, and an inquiry file has since been opened, while Investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death……CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
