According to him, he made the tough choice to take a different route in order to support himself financially after more than eight years of fervently serving as a pastor and gospel musician.
Nzeokija revealed in an interview with the Lucky Udu Experience that he was brought up in a Christian household and became actively involved in the church at an early age. He developed his love for music and learnt to play a variety of instruments in the setting of his mother, an evangelist who owns both a music school and a ministry. But he struggled to make ends meet with the meagre compensation he received because his commitment to the church was not matched by financial assistance. As said by Nzeokija: “I came from a Christian family. My mother has her own ministry and is an evangelist. She runs a music school as well.
I was raised in an environment where playing an instrument was the only thing available, so even if you didn’t learn to play one, you could still play one. I developed an interest in music at that young age. Along with a few other instruments, I was able to learn how to play the piano, keyboard, bass, guitar, and drums. When the time came, I decided to find out more about the engineering work being done in the studio. At the time, I wasn’t doing it purely for enjoyment.
