She had checked in on August 31 with a man identified as Chelsea Mwangi, alias Mcheche, who fled the scene.

Farhia was discovered with severe head injuries and blood oozing from her mouth and nose.

Her body has been moved to the mortuary as detectives search for Mwangi, now the prime suspect.

A quiet guest house in Nairobi’s Mukuru Fuata Nyayo turned into a crime scene this week after a woman was found dead under disturbing circumstances.

Farhia Ahmed, 35, checked into the lodging on Sunday night, August 31, with a man known as Chelsea Mwangi — popularly called Mcheche. The pair paid KSh 400 for Room 1 on the first floor, according to the facility’s owner, Joyce Wangari Wachera.

But by Monday morning, something was clearly wrong. Caretaker Rebecca Moraa noticed the door to their room was slightly ajar. Inside, she found Farhia lying motionless on the bed, blood seeping from her mouth and nose.

Police arrived shortly after and confirmed visible injuries to the back of Farhia’s head. Mwangi, the man she checked in with, had already vanished.

Farhia’s body has since been moved to the mortuary, and detectives are actively searching for Mwangi, who is now considered the prime suspect. The motive remains unclear, but investigators say the case is being treated as a homicide.
