She revealed that she made the decision to travel overseas in response to her mother’s declining health, hoping that by moving to Libya in pursuit of better opportunities, she would be able to earn enough money to take care of her ailing mother. Mercy Olugbenga, the returner, however, described in the Channels Television video how her repeated attempts to leave her employer’s home had been unsuccessful since she had been imprisoned for months. She also remembered how nurses had collected her blood on a regular basis, which caused her to lose most of her memory of what had happened. “They usually take my blood; sometimes I don’t remember anything,” the video claims.
