A 68-year-old woman in Chona Chiefdom, Monze District in Zambia, has died of suspected food poisoning after drinking milk prepared by a prophetess during a prayer session……CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
The deceased has been identified as Linety Mulima of Nabukuyu area. The incident occurred on September 2, 2025, around 20:00 hours.
According to Southern Province Police Commissioner, Auxensio Daka, the family of the deceased had invited Prophetess Hildah Cheelo, 52, of Muzoka area, to their home in August to conduct prayers for a sick male relative.
On the day of the tragedy, Prophetess Cheelo reportedly requested milk for prayers, into which she added coarse salt. The mixture was administered to the patient, but the deceased later consumed the leftover portion. Shortly afterward, Mulima complained of stomach discomfort, developed severe diarrhoea, and was rushed to a nearby clinic, where she was pronounced dead at about 20:00 hours.
Police confirm that the prophetess is in custody in connection with the death, while Mulima’s body has been taken to Monze Mission Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination……CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
