The incident took place inside her Lagos estate on Thursday night. Since then, the suspect has been detained and arrested.
After talking with the victim’s immediate sister, Meddy Olutu Imanoel, a close family friend, described the tragedy in a Facebook post on Friday. He claims that because of alleged abuse, Ms. Moses broke up with him in August 2023. However, the suspect allegedly resisted moving on and kept threatening her, saying things like, “No one will have you if I can’t.” Blood will flow if I don’t wed you. The deceased’s sister, Mr. Imanoel, claimed that Ms. Moses, an interior decorator and fresh NYSC graduate, tried to stay away from her ex-boyfriend. The suspect allegedly pretended to be a dispatch rider on Thursday night in order to enter her estate.
He climbed over the fence and pushed his way inside after she refused to accept a purported delivery. In the hopes that the house would blow up, he first cut her gas pipe. When it didn’t work, he pushed his way in with a knife and repeatedly stabbed her,” Mr. Imanoel said in the widely shared video. He said that neighbours hurried to her aid after hearing her screams. The suspect was then discovered alive and taken into custody by police after allegedly lying next to her and pretending to be dead. Adoga Israel, another acquaintance, verified the occurrence on the internet and urged the Igede community to stand together in demanding justice. PREMIUM TIMES was unable to get in touch with the victim’s sister for a direct comment.
Additionally, at the time this report was filed, the Lagos State Police Command had not returned calls or texts. A pattern of violence The murder contributes to the rising number of homicides in Lagos that are connected to relationships. Amos Daniel was detained by police in July on suspicion of killing a lady who was thought to be his girlfriend at a hotel in Lagos State’s Ayobo neighbourhood. Witnesses said that after hearing odd noises coming from the suspect’s room, the victim’s body was found in a pool of blood. Later, Mr. Daniel was caught attempting to flee.
