Motherhood’s delight was swiftly transformed into a brand-new kind of suffering.
She told the Ordinary President about the traumatic experience of having her newborn removed from her and sent back to Nigeria on Brekete Family. The child was given to the man who had set her up, and she was left to do her sentence. She clarified that the plans to transfer the infant home were arranged through the Nigerian embassy while she was still incarcerated. Her already intolerable circumstances were further exacerbated by the fact that she had no control over the situation and could only watch as her child was carried away.
“Two of my children, including the one I gave birth to in prison, are with him now,” Peace said. He grabbed him out of my grasp.
