The milestone, hailed as a breakthrough for African traditional medicine, was highlighted as Health Forever Products Limited marked Jobelyn’s 25th anniversary with a Stakeholder Engagement event in Lagos. Themed “The Journey, The Milestone, The Science,” the gathering brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to celebrate the brand’s achievements.
Chairman of the company, Olajuwon Okubena, recounted how Jobelyn evolved from a local herbal remedy into a globally recognised product. He noted that its success was built on resilience and scientific discipline, overcoming scepticism from both local and international audiences who doubted that African traditional medicine could meet global standards of efficacy and safety. Personal experience also inspired the brand’s mission: Okubena survived a violent attack and heavy blood loss, which reinforced his commitment to Jobelyn’s development.
The company’s CEO, Abimbola Okubena, said the brand’s enduring relevance lies in its science-backed validation. “We have translated a natural medicine known in West Africa for hundreds of years into a product now globally accepted,” he said. He added that more than 30 scientific studies have been conducted to confirm Jobelyn’s efficacy.
International collaborations, including with Texas A&M University, have helped isolate key compounds such as 3-Deoxyanthocyanidins (3-DXA), expanding Jobelyn’s applications as both a nutraceutical and a natural food colourant. The company also outlined an innovation pipeline to ensure the product reaches wider demographics.
In a goodwill message, the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), represented by Chairman of PSN Lagos State Branch, Babayemi Oyekunle, praised the company for consistently producing safe nutraceuticals. The society described Jobelyn’s silver jubilee as “a remarkable milestone that reflects the product’s enduring quality and the trust it has earned from millions of Nigerians.”
A researcher from the University of Ibadan, Dr Solomon Umokoro, presented studies confirming Jobelyn’s immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties. He highlighted that both Nigerian and American researchers have demonstrated its therapeutic potential in managing chronic conditions linked to immune suppression. According to him, Jobelyn’s high antioxidant activity makes it effective in combating oxidative stress, a factor involved in ailments ranging from inflammatory disorders to cancer……CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
