On Thursday, September 11, 2025, in an interview with Pulse Nigeria, she discussed the unfavourable classifications that are frequently given to women who appear in music videos. We are not all Ashawo. She said that society is too quick to believe that video vixens are indecent or involved in illicit relationships with artists, a concept she vehemently denied. “They always feel like we lose our dignity and integrity to the artist or because of what we do,” she stated. It appears that they don’t respect us. That is a common misperception. They think we have sex with the artist, but that isn’t the case,” she continued.
Her comments highlight the continuous challenges that Nigerian women, especially those who appear in music videos, confront in the entertainment sector. Even though these roles are part of the performance arts and are artistic expressions, social judgement usually overshadows them. Ivatar made it clear that her involvement in music videos should not be interpreted as a call into questioning her moral character, but rather as an expression of professionalism and artistic ability.
