She claimed that he took her two children away from her after she made the complaint. Grace claimed that none of her husband’s family members arrived quickly away to assist in transporting his remains to the mortuary after his death in an interview with the human rights program Brekete Family. She pleaded with her pastor to help her take her husband’s body to the mortuary because she couldn’t stand to keep it in the house as people came to look at it, and he complied.
After three days, according to Grace, Friday arrived, and her late husband’s uncle was with him. She went on to say that her husband’s death was not due to anything she did, but rather to complications brought on by hunger, such as ulcers and high blood pressure.
