Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Noni Madueke picked up an injury during their 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
Madueke started the game on the right and was the Gunners’ most dangerous attacker in the first half.
But the former Chelsea man was substituted at the break, with Bukayo Saka taking his place.
When questioned whether Madueke’s substitution was tactical, Arteta explained, “No, he had an issue very early in the match and he wasn’t well enough to continue.”
It remains to be seen if Madueke will be fit for Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures.
Arteta will prepare his team for a Carabao Cup third-round trip to Port Vale in midweek.
