Former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has said that he was a little bit disappointed with manager Mikel Arteta’s decision not to start Eberechi Eze against Manchester City.
Arteta benched Eze as Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw with Man City in the Premier League on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.
Goals from Erling Haaland and Gabriel Martinelli ensured both teams took a point each.
However, speaking about Arteta’s decision, Walcott told the BBC: “I’m a little bit disappointed not to see Eze in the Arsenal team.
“However, I think he [Eze] is going to have to get used to this new system at Arsenal and the amount of options they have.”
The outcome of the game took Arsenal to second place on the Premier League table, behind leaders Liverpool.
Arsenal will take on Port Vale in the EFL Cup in their next game on Thursday.
