EPL: Why Man Utd beat Chelsea 2-1 – Maresca

Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has explained why Manchester United defeated his team 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Man United were two goals up against Chelsea at half-time following the Blues’ goalkeeper Robert Sanchez’s red card.

Trevor Chalobah scored a consolation goal in the second half as Casemiro also received a red card.

Speaking after the game, Maresca said Chelsea struggled against Man United in the first half at Old Trafford, adding that Ruben Amorim’s side put pressure on his team.

“It wasn’t good enough from us as a club. The first 15 minutes were the worst we have played all season,” Maresca told Sky Sports.

“We struggled in the first half. Always difficult going to 10 men down.

“United were up for it, and they put us under pressure.”
