Gov Alia approves major shake-up at Benue Local Government, Chieftaincy Bureau

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has approved sweeping redeployments and fresh appointments at the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs with immediate effect.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor directed that Denen Aondoakaa, Adviser in charge of the Bureau, be moved to the Office of the Chief of Staff at Government House.

Barrister Ajinge Saar and Derby Amine are to return to the Ministry of Justice, while Mrs Galu has been reassigned to the Accountant General’s office. Shagba Ahura and Rhoda Aboh are both to resume duties at the Office of the Head of Service.

To fill key positions at the Bureau, Terna Ayu has been appointed Permanent Secretary. Terkura B. Dzwungwe will serve as Director of Accounts and Finance, Sule J. Liambee as Director of Administration and Supply, Esther Osugh as Cashier, and Uza Christopher Uza as Director of Local Government Services.

In a related development, Mr Noel Wende has been transferred from the Benue Investment and Property Company to the Office of the Head of Service.

Governor Alia directed all officers taking up their new roles to report at their respective duty posts no later than 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
