Nasarawa kidnappers demand N50m as abducted women beg for rescue

Two women kidnapped in Nasarawa State on Sunday night are pleading for help as their abductors demand a N50 million ransom for their release.

Family members told reporters in Lafia that the victims, snatched by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, have endured harsh conditions and severe mistreatment since their abduction.

One of the women, the wife of a local pastor, was seized alongside a female church member.

The pastor’s wife, a nursing mother of a three-month-old baby, is reportedly in a fragile state, struggling with the trauma of forced marches through dense forest and the stress of being separated from her infant.

“She is deeply worried about her health and the baby she left behind,” a relative said.

“The cold nights, the long treks, and the cruelty of the kidnappers are putting her life at serious risk.”

The distraught woman, overheard weeping during a monitored call, reportedly begged: “My baby… my baby. Who will help me? Somebody please get me out of this forest of pain.”

Relatives say the kidnappers have refused to lower their N50 million demand, leaving the family in anguish as they struggle to raise the money.

Sympathizers and community leaders are urging security agencies to act swiftly to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
