NILDS inaugurates committee on review of staff records of service

The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS has inaugurated A-9-man Committee for the Review of Staff’s Records of Service and streamline the identified gaps.

The Director General of the Institute, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman inaugurated the Committee on Tuesday in Abuja.

However, contrary to the expressed fears and insinuations, Professor Abubakar, a former Minister of National Planning, clarified that the exercise was not targeted at witch-hunting anybody or group.

Inaugurating the Committee, which is Chaired by a seasoned Administrator and former Director of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Dr Yusuf Lawal, Professor Sulaiman tasked them to be above boards.

He said the objective of setting up the committee, which is the second since his assumption of duty in 2019 is with a view to validating the available records and identity available gaps, pointing out that the exercise is not meant to witch-hunt.

The Chief Executive Officer of NILDS, however, vouched for members of the committee whom he said were chosen based on their pedigrees.

He subsequently gave three terms of references and six weeks to the committee to complete their assignment.

Committee Chairman, Dr Yusuf Lawal promised on behalf of members not to leave any stone unturned in the discharge of their national assignment.
