Senate was used – Aisha Yesufu on reopening of Natasha Akpoti’s NASS office

Convener of defunct BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group, Aisha Yesufu, has accused the Senate of allowing itself to be used.

Yesufu expressed hope that the Senate gets its independence.

She made the remark in response to the unsealing of the office of the senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The unsealing of Natasha’s office is an indication that the suspended lawmaker may soon resume her official duties as a senator as lawmakers prepares to resume plenary on October 7, 2025.

Natasha’s Room 205 office at the Senate Wing was reopened by the Sergeant at Arms of the National Assembly, along with a combined team of security operatives.

Natasha was suspended following her allegations of sexual harassment against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Reacting, Yesufu posted on X: “The Senate has allowed itself to be used. Hope they get their independence.”
