
The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has faulted the Presidency for attacking former President Goodluck Jonathan, saying the move shows panic within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement in Gusau, the state chairman of the PDP, Hon. Jamilu Jibo Magayaki, said the Presidency’s criticism of Jonathan was meant to distract Nigerians from the failures of President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Magayaki recalled Jonathan’s administration as a period of peace, democracy, and relative economic stability, contrasting it with the current situation of hardship, hunger, insecurity, inflation, and economic decline.
“If Jonathan’s tenure was truly a failure, why does the thought of his possible return in 2027 unsettle the APC?” He asked
According to him, the ruling party’s frequent mention of Jonathan only shows its inability to defend its own record after more than two years in power.
He expressed confidence that Nigerians would vote the PDP back into power in 2027, noting that the people have seen the failures of the APC government.
