
Armed bandits have abducted a woman and her two children during an early morning attack in Bareke, Egbe, Yagba West local government area of Kogi state.
The incident, which occurred around 2 am on Friday, left the woman’s husband injured after he narrowly escaped.
Community sources said the attack took place close to the residence of Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West in the Nigerian Senate.
“The woman and two of her children were kidnapped right from their house around 2 am in the early hours of this morning, while her husband escaped with wounds,” a source told Sahara Reporters.
The incident follows another attack in Ejiba on Thursday, where bandits ambushed a commercial bus and abducted all passengers.
A motorcyclist, identified by serial number 256, was reportedly killed during the Ejiba raid.
On Wednesday night, three people were also kidnapped when bandits invaded Bethel Farm in Ejiba.
Earlier that same day, the armed gang attacked a bread distributor along the Ejiba–Odo-Eri route, shooting one staff member.
The wave of violence has forced residents of Okunran community in Yagba West to flee their homes.
A video obtained on September 26 showed abandoned houses and empty streets as villagers fled repeated assaults.
