JUST IN: President Tinubu Writes Senate, Seeks Confirmation of Fresh Appointment

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting approval for the appointment of Dr. Musa Babayo as Chairman of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

The request was conveyed in a letter read during Wednesday’s plenary session by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The president urged the upper chamber to consider and confirm Babayo’s nomination in accordance with the provisions of the law establishing the agency.

Meanwhile, the Senate also administered the oath of office to two new lawmakers. Joseph Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was sworn in as the senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, while Emmanuel Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) took the oath as the new senator for Anambra South.
