
Renowned broadcaster, diplomat, and elder statesman, Dr. Christopher Kolade, has died at the age of 92.
His family announced his passing in a statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, Kolade died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
“We are thankful for his incredible life of faith and service, and are grateful for God’s abundant blessings,” the statement read in part.
Born on December 28, 1932, Dr. Kolade had a distinguished career spanning media, diplomacy, education, and public service.
A former Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and one-time Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Kolade also served as Pro-Chancellor of Pan-Atlantic University and chaired several corporate and non-profit boards.
Until his death, he remained an influential voice in national discourse.
Funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be announced in due course.
