JUST IN: Tinubu Submits Names of New Service Chiefs to Senate for Confirmation

President Bola Tinubu has submitted the names of the newly appointed Service Chiefs to the Senate for confirmation.

The request was contained in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read during Tuesday’s plenary session in Abuja.

The Senate subsequently referred the letter to the Committee of the Whole for screening, which is expected to begin next week.

The nominees are:

General Olufemi Oluyede – Chief of Defence Staff

Major-General Waheedi Shaibu – Chief of Army Staff

Rear Admiral Idi Abbas – Chief of Naval Staff

Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke – Chief of Air Staff

Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye – Chief of Defence Intelligence
