The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole consensus candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The decision was reached on Saturday during a meeting of the party’s executive members from the ward, local government, and state levels.
Senator Sahabi Ya’u, representing Zamfara North Senatorial District, who moved the motion, said the endorsement reflects the president’s “tremendous achievements” over the past three years.
“Based on our discussions, I want to inform all Nigerians that we, the members of our great party in Zamfara State, have passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We have selected him as the only consensus candidate for the 2027 presidential election,” Senator Ya’u declared.
Seconding the motion, Abdulmalik Zubairu, Member representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency, said the decision demonstrates the party members’ confidence in Tinubu’s leadership.
“We have seen the impact of his good governance and leadership style. There is no other APC presidential candidate besides him,” Zubairu stated.
Earlier, APC leader in Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, urged party members to unite and avoid the internal crises that cost the party electoral victories in 2019.
“We are gathered today to reunite APC members for future elections. To succeed, we must forget past mistakes and differences and work under one umbrella,” Yari said.
The endorsement is part of early political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, as several APC chapters across Nigeria have begun signalling support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
