Pastor Adeboye’s request for N30 billion for the RCCG building project sparks a range of responses online.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently made a public appeal for donations to fund a building development project in a video that went viral on social media, according to a report published by The Nation Nigeria on Sunday, August 10, 2025….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Pastor Adeboye urges churchgoers to make significant financial contributions to assist the project in the now-viral video. In particular, he asks that ten members each donate one billion naira, 100 members each donate 100 million naira, and 1,000 more members each donate 10 million naira. According to reports, the goal amount is approximately 30 billion naira. Netizens have responded to the call in a variety of ways. While some criticised the size of the funds involved, others emphasised the voluntary nature of donations and showed support and understanding of the request.

As long as no one is pressuring them, people should be free to spend their money anyway they see fit, according to a comment made on X by user #iam_smartcee. That’s my opinion. This point of view emphasises the idea that giving to charity is a personal decision. In contrast, #okeboola said, “What happened to factories?,” raising doubts about the motivations behind such requests. “Oga o.” This implies that some people believe the money would be better used for economic growth as opposed to ecclesiastical initiatives.

Why the commotion, Abi? since it’s RCCG? Or because billions of dollars have been donated? The source of these substantial gifts, however, sparked questions from #Joshuae02891648, who tweeted, “And you guys now will complain of corruption.” Are the billions coming from legal revenue or real businesses? Not surprisingly, a large number of Nigerian politicians are from that church. The mistake is that they get away with embezzling money. Others laughed and showed obvious scepticism. #topboy_ngn, for instance, wrote, “Urgent 30 Billion ke? Omo, these folks are basically beggars, which suggests that they don’t believe they can raise that much money.

As for the fundraising strategy, #truehomeboy1 expressed disapproval, saying, “If the population is large, then you should learn from Deeper Life Church.” Make the program a month-long event with zones taking part on various days rather than just one weekend. Requesting billions from members is blatant theft, not sanctity. The pastor’s petition was supported by several. “Thank God I saw the full video,” #taeykun posted. This is perfectly OK. The appeal is perfect. Follow instructions….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
